About Beacon Southwest, LLC

Ryan Koning, founder of Beacon Southwest, LLC, has been involved in many facets of the construction industry for many years.  Beginning his career in the electrical industry, he quickly moved up within the family business and became an integral part of the decision making process.  He decided to broaden his horizons and relocate to Boston to be a project manager for a general contractor where he successfully built-out numerous tenant improvements under tight schedules.

He eventually relocated to Las Vegas, to pursue new and challenging opportunities in the local booming construction market.  He traveled throughout the USA as a project superintendent building restaurants, retail spaces and dormitories.  In October 2001 he project managed the two Guggenheim Museums, successfully opening them on time, and within budget.  These large and complex projects were designed by Rem Koolhaas and Frank Gehry and were completed on a 12 month schedule.  Ryan then went on to project manage numerous projects throughout the next several years at various Las Vegas properties including, Venetian Casino Resort, Caesars Casino Resort, Mandalay Bay Casino, Luxor Hotel, Fashion Show Mall, Caesars Forum Shops and many others.  Most of these projects had extremely rigorous and accelerated schedules and were completed on time and within the owner’s budget.  Following those endeavors, Ryan was a project manager for the $2.3B Encore Project in Las Vegas.

Ryan continued his work as the construction management contractor for Agua Caliente Resort and Casino in Palm Springs CA. This project included an 18 story hotel tower, casino renovation and addition.  This project value was approx $250M.  Ryan was then given the opportunity to become the construction management contractor of The Palms Place Condo Tower which included a 47 story tower, 800 linear foot enclosed moving walkway and 50k sf spa. This project value was approx $425M.

After several years as a successful construction manager, Ryan decided to change things up and opened Beacon Southwest in Las Vegas.  As a general contractor Ryan has lead Beacon Southwest to a successful first few years even with the current economic conditions.  Specializing in commercial construction, Beacon Southwest has been very successful bringing in projects on time and on budget for several clients located throughout the Las Vegas Valley.  Focusing on smaller, design build projects has been a welcome change from the larger projects of the past.  It has allowed for a more hands on approach and has lead to many satisfied clients.
